Johnny Clark

Owner and Executive Director

“It took losing everything to realize those material things don't matter. What does is connection. There's so much talent untapped by an individual who has been through the fire and suffered from this disease. All I can see are brighter days, better tomorrows, love, and connection for those that want to do the work, be held accountable, and follow the spiritual principles. I pray that I can help others see what I see within them. I want to do something that's worth doing and believe in something greater than myself because that's what it takes. Service work, surrender, and working within the four pillars helps create meaningful existence for those that suffer. It shows them what recovery is all about. We have to give it away to keep it.”

Todd Wilson

Assistant Director

“It’s an honor, helping and giving back to others, what was given to me freely, knowing I can make a substantial difference in someone’s life. I help those transitioning from jails, institutions, and the streets, but it’s much more than that. It’s about love. Love that’s unconditional. It’s about being a family that doesn’t judge, where you can open up and be yourself without fear. Creating a place of warmth, a safe place, a sanctuary. These are some of the reasons I am proud to be a part of this family and dedicate myself to my guys at A Hand Up and Johnny. I’m proud of my family here, they’re my heart beat. And I am truly blessed to work for a company that’s about promoting one’s full potential. Mitakuye Oyasin, which translates to ‘we are all related’ in Lakota.”

“I myself have experienced what felt like an insurmountable amount of adversity only to have come out successfully through the help of those who believed in me when I couldn’t believe in myself.”
